Green Animals

It is hard to find the color green in animals. But the species that are green look unique and exotic. As beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, it is entirely up to an individual to decide whether they are beautiful and cute or ugly. The main use of the green color in wild animals is to help in camouflage though parrots, geckos, and tree frogs are kept as pets. The shades sported by green animals range from light (for example, luna moth) to deep green (for example, European lobster).

While the color of most of these animals owes to natural green pigments on their skins, there are a few like sloths that are green due to the presence of algae on their fur, which is in a symbiotic relationship. The insects in the below list are small green animals, while sloths and snakes are among the bigger types.
