Algeria is home to various birds, with southern Algeria having greater avian diversity than the northern part. They are most active between May and September, making it the best period to observe them.
For its beauty, the Barbary Partridge is the national bird of Algeria. The Algerian Nuthatch, the Levaillant’s Woodpecker, and the Moussier’s Redstart are endemic to this country, but only the first is exclusively endemic to the nation.
