Birds of Azerbaijan

The nation of Azerbaijan is home to a wide variety of avifauna, with several species, like the Black-tailed Godwit and the Great Rosefinch, wintering in the wetlands and river valleys found there.

Azerbaijan’s national bird is the European Roller, though this is an informal status and not an official title designated to it. The Golden Eagle is also a popular species, with its image appearing on many stamps printed there.
