Lizards in Utah

Utah is a geographically diverse state with deserts and pine forests. Naturally, several lizard species live in the state, such as the Great Basin collared lizard, the western banded gecko, and the desert spiny lizard.

The only poisonous lizard in the US – the Gila Monster – lives in Utah. It is very slow and avoids human contact.
